SMPLink™ processes its 50 millionth PCI compliant transaction

by Don Bunt 20. February 2013 05:45

On Monday, SMPLink™ processed its 50 millionth PCI compliant transaction. SMPLink™ is PCI-compliant credit card interface software developed specifically for Panasonic System Manager Pro (SMP) users that integrates seamlessly with Merchant Link's TransactionVault® - a system that stores sensitive cardholder data in a secure vault - not on your back office computer. SMPLink™ from Bunt Software has been validated under the PCI PA-DSS v1.2 rules.

The Panasonic System Manager Pro point of sale software was sold into over 2500 restaurants, representing almost every Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brand. Unfortunately, the SMP software is vulnerable and not PCI compliant. The SMP software had interfaces to both Merchant Link's SiteNet and Southern DataComm's Protobase. Southern DataComm is now called Elavon.

Visa added SMP to the list of vulnerable payment applications in January, 2012. Based on a Visa compliance mandate effective 10/1/09, the SMP software must be decertified by VisaNet processors and agents within 12 months. That time has come and gone. In order to protect the consumers credit cards, the processors are enforcing the Visa guidelines.

Get PCI compliant now by installing SMPLink™.

SMPLink™ has nearly 750 sites installed and processes 2.75 Million PCI compliant credit transactions per month. SMPLink™ has also processed over one half million gift card transactions.

Countdown to Decertification for System Manager Pro

by Don Bunt 2. November 2012 07:03

At the end of January, 2013, hundreds of Panasonic System Manager Pro (SMP) users are in for a rude awakening. This is when the SMP software will be decertified by their VisaNet processor. With the holidays coming fast, the waiting lists for installation at point of sale dealers are growing.

Time until Decertification:

Panasonic System Manager Pro users must act NOW or be kept from processing credit transactions at the end of January, 2013.

The Panasonic System Manager Pro point of sale software was sold into over 2500 reastaurants, representing almost every Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) brand. Unfortunately, the SMP software is vulnerable, not PCI compliant and Panasonic no longer supports this software. The SMP software had interfaces to both Merchant Link's SiteNet and Southern DataComm's Protobase. Southern DataComm is now called Elavon.

With the help of SMPLink™, System Manager Pro can be made PCI compliant.

SMPLink™ Credit Interface for Panasonic SMP Users

by Don Bunt 10. December 2010 15:30

On July 1, 2010, comprehensive new rules regarding card practices will take effect. These changes include new PCI Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). Merchants that fail to comply with these new standards can incur substantial fines, or worse; be prevented from accepting credit cards.

SMPLink™ is new PCI-compliant credit card interface software developed specifically for Panasonic System Manager Pro (SMP) users that integrates seamlessly with Merchant Link's TransactionVault® - a system that stores sensitive cardholder data in a secure vault - not on your back office computer.

SMPLink™ from Bunt Software has been validated under the PCI PA-DSS v1.2 rules.

Remove the Data
Remove the Risk

Most security breaches occur at the merchant level where data is stored. TransactionVault® removes the risk of exposure by taking the data off the merchant system and storing it in its own secure location, offering you unsurpassed data security.

Current Panasonic System Manager Pro (SMP) users can utilize this revolutionary technology by upgrading to SMPLink™ from Bunt Software.

The upgrade is fast and easy. Contact your dealer for more information.

Advanced Tech Support for Panasonic SMP Users

Tier 3 support is now available for Panasonic point of sale (POS) software. Support services are available on an incident basis. The price for each support ticket is $250. Support tickets may be purchased at a 20% discount in groups of 10 for $2000.

Each ticket entitles the user to up to four hours of technical support to solve a single issue. As much of Panasonic System Manager Pro (SMP) software has been discontinued, a software bug may be found. In this case, Bunt Software will work with you to find "work arounds" for the problem.
